We were able to get out of the frozen tundra this January as a family to explore Dreams Flora in Punta Cana! We took our 6-year-old twin boys and they had a blast!

Check out my honest review below:

Food: 4/10

The food was ok. Have I mentioned how picky I am? Punta Cana is simply one of those destinations that just doesn't usually have the best food especially if you're used to gourmet dining. Taking that into perspective, most of the food was a bit less than average. The resort had excellent variety with 9 buffet & a la carte dining options. The buffets had great variety and several stations with made to order foods! Our kids always found something they loved!

Drinks: 4/10

It was always a challenge figuring out what we wanted to drink. There wasn't anything really good. I found that most of the blended drinks had a weird taste that I am guessing is from the ice? My go-to on this trip was the strawberry margarita!

Spa: n/a

I'm so sad that I didn't have the opportunity to use the spa!

Easy to access: 10/10

This resort was a DIRECT (!) flight from MKE and only about a 20-minute drive from the airport in Punta Cana.

Service: 6/10

The service was good! There were some workers who went above and beyond to help get us what we need and most of them were extremely friendly and helpful.

Beach: 7/10

The beach is SO beautiful here. There was some seaweed (nothing we can do about that, unfortunately) and a lot of trash on the beach. BUT the workers were tirelessly picking up and a tractor would comb the beach at least once a day to rid the sand of seaweed. There were A LOT of vendors who were CONSTANTLY coming up to us, asking for us to buy their items.

Pools: 8/10

These pools were stunning! Very clean and I loved the dark color of the water. They had several swim up bars, a quiet pool, a loud pool and two Preferred Club pools. The resort also had a small water area for younger children and some large (AND VERY FAST!) water slides for riders over 120 cm.

Entertainment: 5/10

There was always a nightly show and kids-events. One day they had a Dominican themed beach party where they had lunch on the beach (it was tasty!) and coconuts to drink out of. We didn't utilize the kids club but our friends children who were with us stated that it was "boring" and we didn't see many kiddos in there.

Grounds: 8/10

The grounds were in good condition They worked so hard to continuously clean the grounds and were always working on the landscaping. It was a tropical paradise!

Rooms: 5/10

The rooms were "meh". We opted for the lead-in room category because we knew we wouldn't be in the room much. You could definitely tell this was a resort that was purchased and renovated to be up to the "Dreams" standards. One of the couples who was with us had an upgraded room and the interior was the exact same, just a different view. They were clean and well-stocked!

This resort was great for a family of our size. I find that I'm always running back and forth getting things for the kids and it was nice to not have to go very far. We were located pretty much right in the middle between the lobby and beach and it was only about a 5 minute walk in either direction. Overall, it was a pleasant stay!
